36" x 48" / 2011 / Obverse Painting

Valour

A scattering of colored objects gather at the intersection of two, broad strokes–like medals on a proud chest.

As with all my calligraphic body of work, the background is done first, then the space for the foreground figure is “removed” with solvent, back to clear, then repainted. Subsequently, solvent was pooled under a series of objects, creating the windows of color in the foreground.

This original painting is  currently for sale. It is framed in a thin-line, metal float frame that can be easily inserted into a more ornate frame, as desired.

Please contact the artist directly to inquire about purchasing this original.
