Wind and ashes–or smoke…or wind-blown tears. 

The shape of a lyre invokes the title of this gestural image. The background is a complex of golden droplets that interweave with the foreground figure.

As with all the calligraphic body of work, the background is done first, then the space for the foreground figure is “removed” with solvent, back to clear, then repainted.

This original painting is currently for sale. It is framed in a thin-line, metal float frame that can be easily inserted into a more ornate frame, as desired.
