Approaching dawn, the open/closed door of the House of Music glows with welcome. The stormy night of dreams is about to be broken by the crowing of the herald on the apex of the abode. Will the dream end?

Andy Mihalso was my sister’s professor of piano in college and, ultimately, a close friend of the family. When he was preparing for his final move, from a home to an apartment, downsizing, Elaine, my sister and patron, requested a piece of art to commemorate the transition. She approved this one.

Somehow, the painting came back to me after Andy’s passing. I think I’ll keep it safe.
