Pandora's Box

36" x 48" / 2004 / Obverse Painting

Pandora's Box

All the evils and hardships and ills of the world escape, while a silver feather of Hope lies at the bottom…

I used a bird’s feather to print the feather first, after I had created the opening for the black with solvent to remove the first-painted background. The “inclusions” were made by various objects with solvent pooled under to create windows for color.

This original painting is currently available for purchase. It is framed in a thin-line, metal float frame that can be easily inserted into a more ornate frame, as desired.
